Pawjourr

Scalable backend microservices powering a pet-creator and brand collaboration marketplace.

Pawjourr is an online platform connecting pet influencers with brands for sponsored content and product campaigns. We partnered with the Pawjourr team to design and build the backend infrastructure powering their core operations — architected with scalability and extensibility in mind to support a growing base of pet creators, brands, and campaigns.

Our team developed a suite of backend microservices to streamline the end-to-end collaboration process — from creator onboarding and campaign applications to brand approvals and content tracking. The solution included a secure API gateway, flexible data modelling, and operational tooling to support day-to-day platform management and future growth.

System shape

A suite of backend microservices behind a secure API gateway, modelling creators, brands, campaigns, and their states, with operational tooling for day-to-day running.

Constraints

  • A growing base of creators, brands, and campaigns to scale with.
  • An end-to-end collaboration flow: onboarding, application, approval, and tracking.
  • Clean integration boundaries for the frontend and product teams.

What we owned

  • Designed and developed scalable backend microservices to support key workflows.
  • Implemented an API gateway with secure authentication and authorisation flows.
  • Built data models and service logic to manage user roles, campaign states, and interactions.
  • Provided operational tooling to support deployment, monitoring, and system health.
  • Collaborated closely with the frontend and product teams for smooth integration and iteration.

What we deliberately avoided

  • A single tightly coupled backend where independent workflows needed room to scale.
  • Coupling the frontend directly to internal data models.
  • Bespoke infrastructure where managed services were enough.

Operational result

  • Enabled seamless collaboration between pet creators and brands through automated workflows.
  • Improved platform scalability and maintainability with a modular microservice approach.
  • Empowered the client's internal team with a flexible, developer-friendly backend foundation.
  • Supported Pawjourr's growth into new markets and partnerships with improved infrastructure readiness.
