Alagas Network — QR payments

A custom QR payment module bringing regional mobile payment standards to a growing online distributor.

Blueprint illustration: an e-commerce checkout flow with a highlighted QR-payment step, connected to inventory and order-management systems.

Alagas Shop, a regional distributor of network hardware, needed to modernise their online store's payment options to better serve customers in Southeast Asia. With a growing number of mobile-first shoppers and rising demand for QR-based payments, we were brought in to enhance their e-commerce platform with support for local payment standards.

Working within the constraints of their existing OpenCart CMS, we developed and integrated a custom payment module tailored for regional QR payment providers. The integration was designed to work seamlessly with Alagas Shop's existing checkout flow, backend reporting, and inventory systems — ensuring minimal disruption and maximum compatibility.

System shape

A custom QR-payment module inside the existing OpenCart store, integrated with the live checkout, order management, reporting, and inventory.

Constraints

  • Work within the existing OpenCart CMS and checkout flow.
  • Regional QR payment standards and providers.
  • Minimal disruption to a running store.

What we owned

  • Developed a fully custom QR payment module for the OpenCart e-commerce platform.
  • Ensured compatibility with existing checkout logic, order management, and reporting workflows.
  • Provided documentation and training for internal teams to manage and monitor the new system.
  • Delivered a secure and responsive experience optimised for mobile transactions.

What we deliberately avoided

  • Re-platforming the store off OpenCart.
  • A parallel checkout that bypassed existing order and inventory flows.
  • A generic gateway that ignored regional QR standards.

Operational result

  • Enabled fast, QR-based checkout aligned with customer payment preferences.
  • Improved transaction success rates, especially for mobile-first shoppers.
  • Expanded payment accessibility for a broader range of local and regional users.
  • Strengthened the client's position in a competitive market with a localised, user-friendly payment experience.
